  • Descrizione: Matter, a destitute innkeeper, can no longer afford the medicine for his critically ill wife. When a travelling musician arrives at the inn and boasts about his money he is murdered by Matter. Years later his daughter has fallen in love with Arpad the musician’s son. Matter has turned the stolen money into a fortune and has built a new house. He avoids the light of day because the musician had put a curse on him that the sun will avenge him. In the end Matter is overwhelmed by the burden of his crime, goes insane and burns his house down.
